We produce a range of grades in grey, ductile, malleable iron using the "ISO 9002." This special process produces materials with superior mechanical properties and excellent machinability. It requires very careful selection of raw materials with absolute metallurgical control. These tight metallurgical tolerance is maintained through the use of a 1999 Spectrolab spectrometer.
The highest quality patterns are produced using CAD/CAM CNC controlled machines. Dependant upon the volume and life expectancy materials used are wood, resin, aluminium, cast iron and gunmetal.
Every casting batch receives a unique serial number which is cast on a non-machined surface, whenever possible. A hand-coded production ticket bearing this serial number is collected after the casting is poured. The hand-coded tickets representing the castings poured from each ladle are assigned a heat number and this information is permanently stored on a hard disc within our Q.C. database. A test bar from every heat of grey iron and every ladle of ductile iron is poured in accordance with ISO 9002 standards.
In order to meet customer's requirements for small, medium or high volumes we have moulding facilities tailored to suit. For high to medium volumes our two Disamatic foundries are fully equipped for cored and non-cored products. The semi-automatic moulding lines specialise in small to medium volumes and a floor moulding section can supply small to medium volumes.
