All samples are fully inspected prior to submission for your approval. A full dimensional and metallurgical report is submitted for each mould impression.
Pre-production Castings
If applicable a small sample batch of castings will be made in order to carry out SPC Capability Studies on critical features to ensure the consistency of your product in service.
Production Batches
After sample approval by you and any pre-production batches have been analysed, a production batch will be manufactured. During the process, our team of quality engineers, working in the foundries will monitor the production parameter to ensure consistency and adherence to your standards. Each delivery will be checked firstly by the foundry's own QA personnel and finally by our own independent inspection team at each foundry. Full traceability is available with every consignment.
Machining
To provide quality machining facilities, using conventional and CNC machining centres. Sourcing fully or part machined castings to your tight drawing tolerances.
Finishing, Painting and Powder-coating
Shotblasted primer coated castings, Rylsan, epoxy powder coated or zinc galvanised finishes to your individual specifications.
Delivery
Delivery will be to your requirements and your preferred US or European port. Full certification of quality will apply to every delivery.
Design
After gaining over 40 years of foundry and metallurgical expertise in the manufacture and design of castings, in a wide variety of materials. We are able to advise on specialist design features suitable for all methods of casting processes.
Procedure for Quotation
The following information to assist in compiling the quotation:
To submit two sets of drawings either by post or by e-mail (dxf format)
- Material specification
- Casting weight in kilos
- Annual Volumes
- Special requirements e.g. test bar, pressure testing, painting, galvanising, machining etc.
All our foundries have ISO 9002 approval. In addition to the foundry's own quality control systems, KP Metallurgical Casting Company Limited operate their own independent inspection teams based at each foundry and machine shops. Every delivery is inspected to your individual 'Quality Control Plan' by the foundry and our own independent inspection team to ensure that when the consignment arrives in Europe and the USA it is "Right First Time."
Plastic and Rubber
In addition to our castings, plastic and rubber components, we are able to offer machining, painting, finishing and powder-coating facility. We are concentrating our resources in building a packing/assembly and distribution warehouse, this will complement and enhance our capability to supply from raw material to the finished product, for distribution to your customers worldwide.
Method of Manufacture
Selected and approved foundries using the following methods of manufacture:
- Disamatic ’Äì high volume
- Conventional moulding machines ’Äì medium to low volume
- Floor moulding ’Äì low volume jobbing
- Investment casting ’Äì high integrity specialised materials
Pattern Equipment
Our policy is to manufacture excellent quality pattern equipment, suitable to provide the accuracy required by your drawing tolerances, and to maintain high accuracy during the life of your pattern. Where volumes are low to medium the pattern will be manufactured of wood and resin with metal wear plates. Where volumes are medium to high, metal patterns will be manufactured.
