A pioneer plant in research & development of lost foam technology in China. The foundry produces ferrous and non-ferrous metal castings such as nodular cast iron, grey cast iron, steel casting, aluminium and copper alloy. In Lost Foam casting technology, products are cast by using polystyrene or co-polymer foam patterns produced on CNC-machined tooling. The foam pattern is then embedded in dry unbonded sand, which is compacted by vibration. Molten iron is then poured on to the foam pattern by means of a funnel runner system, because of the high temperatures involved the foam pattern evaporates. Once cooled the castings are easily removed from the sand. The Lost Foam technology enables very complex products to be cast in one piece, the pattern can be built up in several sections which are then bonded together using very sophisticated adhesives. For every cast product a foam pattern is used. With the advantage of low cost, shaped-rapidly and fast process "Lost Foam" technique, which can be applied in casting products with precise accurate measurement and shape, clean and high quality surface precision, without shrinkage porosity inside the body of castings and high-density structure, it is also suitable for mass production. |
